Heli-Biking???

What is it like to get airlifted to the top of a mountain and ride down? The Polygon Factory Enduro team was lucky enough to find out before their race at the EWS Whistler earlier this summer.

We went along with them so we could now bring you the goods, and over 5000-feet of vertical descending.

If you've never done a heli-biking trip, you need to make it a bucket list!
The lads were surprised the morning of the trip by their team director when he informed them instead of a course walk of the EWS, they were going to head out for a backcountry trip they won't forget.

FSA’s commitment to creating the world’s best cycling components has taken Polygon’s Factory Racing (PFR) team to new heights.

In the midst of a successful 2022 Enduro World Series (EWS), the PFR team took to the newly built heli-biking trail between Whistler and Pemberton, BC for a gravity-inspired adventure.

Launched this summer by AlpX, the newly-sanctioned trail had PFR team riders - Dan Wolfe, Matt Stuttard, and Brady Stone - descending 13km of freshly built singletrack over 1600m (5,250ft) of descent, including a 3km Black Diamond peak descent, a 1.2km climb trail, and an Intermediate Blue trail of 9km that followed an alpine ridgeline down through old growth forest to open terrain with a mix of singletrack and bike park style flow sections.

“A surreal experience! Great to be one of the first groups to ride this brand-new Heli-Trail in BC. Good people, good vibes, amazing trails.” ~ Matt Stuttard, Polygon Factory Racing

At the time, it looked like we were not going to be able to do the double black trail due to too much snow on the trail, but AlpX cleared the trail enough for us to ride this amazing section.

“It was amazing landing in the heli on the snow and then riding all the way back to the valley floor on a freshly built trail.” ~ Brady Stone, Polygon Factory Racing

The FSA gear was tested throughout the season with all different types of terrain and riding styles, making for a successful year of racing.

“A world-class experience for our PFR team, matched by the world-class support of FSA.” ~ Serena Lisney, Polygon International Brand Manager

"An absolutely epic day! I am so stoked the team was able to get out there. I'm just bummed I missed it by a day!" ~ David Meredith, Dirt marketing manager-Americas, FSA.

"We were told it was going to be cold at the top but none of us prepared for a snowy drop-in!" Dan Wolfe, team captain, and EWS racer said. "I just showed up ready for a big day of summer park riding when we were told we were going on a heli-drop.
